Adolescence is a journey like no other. It’s a time of self-discovery, emotional growth, and sometimes overwhelming challenges. For young women, these years are often filled with questions about who they are, where they fit in, and how to navigate the world around them. At The Montfort Group, we understand these challenges and are here to help with our signature program: Girl Talk: A Place to Connect.

This 10-week program is more than just a support group; it’s a community where young women can feel seen, heard, and supported. Tailored to meet the unique needs of different stages of adolescence, we offer two separate groups for ages 13–15 and 16–18, each designed to address the specific topics and struggles young women face at those ages.

Group 1: Ages 13–15

Exploring Identity and Building a Strong Foundation

The early teen years are a time of incredible transformation. For many young women, this stage is marked by the beginning of self-awareness and the challenges of balancing personal growth with external pressures. Our group for ages 13–15 is designed to provide the tools and support they need to navigate this exciting yet sometimes overwhelming time.

Key Topics We Address:

• Body Image: Understanding and embracing the changes of puberty while challenging societal beauty standards.
• Friendship Dynamics: Dealing with social cliques, understanding inclusion and exclusion, and building authentic connections.
• Emotional Awareness: Recognizing and managing strong emotions like frustration, anxiety, and self-doubt.
• Peer Pressure: Learning how to stand up for themselves and resist unhealthy behaviors, including social media comparisons.
• Communication Skills: Finding their voice to express thoughts and feelings effectively with friends, family, and peers.

Through creative activities like media analysis, art, and journaling, we help participants build a strong foundation of self-awareness and resilience that will serve them for years to come.

Group 2: Ages 16–18

Strengthening Identity and Preparing for the Future

As young women grow older, the challenges they face evolve. The late teen years often bring increased expectations, newfound independence, and significant life transitions. Our group for ages 16–18 focuses on providing the tools and support they need to solidify their identity and prepare for the future with confidence.

Key Topics We Address:

• Body Image and Self-Worth: Moving beyond appearances to build a lasting positive self-concept.
• Romantic Relationships: Understanding boundaries, communication, and self-respect in dating and relationships.
• Future Planning: Setting goals and balancing academic, social, and personal responsibilities while preparing for college or career paths.
• Self-Advocacy: Building confidence to express needs, set boundaries, and navigate independence.
• Social Media and Technology: Managing the pressures of online presence and avoiding unhealthy comparisons.

With the support of their peers and guidance from our highly trained counselors, participants will leave this group with a stronger sense of self and the skills to navigate the transition into adulthood.

At The Montfort Group, we believe in the power of creativity to foster growth. Each session blends media, art, and writing to engage participants in ways that feel natural and meaningful. These activities create space for self-reflection, encourage open dialogue, and help young women build connections with peers who understand their journey.

• Group Size: Limited to 6-8 participants to ensure a personalized and intimate experience.
• Duration: 10 weekly sessions, 90 minutes each.
• Dates: 
  • Group 1: Ages 13–15. Wednesdays at 5pm
  • Group 2: Ages 16–18. Thursdays at 5pm
• Location: 5309 Village Creek Drive, Suite 100, Plano, TX 75093
• Investment: Advance payment for 8 of 10 sessions is required to secure your spot. This allows flexibility for anticipated travel or scheduling conflicts while maintaining the importance of attending all sessions.
