We See Strength in Scars

Your Story: A Living Kintsugi

Kintsugi is an old Japanese practice of repairing broken pottery with gold. Instead of hiding the cracks, gold is worked along them, so the piece that comes back is stronger and holds more beauty than it did before.

Some of the people who come to us feel like things are in pieces. More often, they are the capable ones, the people others lean on, who have been carrying something heavy for a long time without much room to set it down. The work here is not about being put back together as if nothing happened. It is about looking honestly at what you have been holding, making sense of it, and deciding what is worth carrying forward. In Kintsugi, the repair is the most valued part of the piece. The same is true of the work you do here.

Whatever you bring here–

—will be met with steadiness.

A Personalized Approach to Therapy

The Montfort Group began out of a need for therapy that is genuinely personal, shaped around the individual rather than a standard protocol.

The circumstances that bring people to us are never the same. For one person it is a breaking point that has been building for years, for another an unexpected loss, a decision with no clear right answer, or an old wound that a new relationship has reopened. The path through it should be just as specific to you.

Our therapists bring different specialties and clinical backgrounds, and they work as one team with a shared way of practicing. Together we help you build on real strengths and find steadier ground in your relationships as life keeps changing.

The Space We Built for This Work

The room you sit in matters more than people expect.

Instead of white walls and stiff furniture, we built a setting that feels calm and considered, closer to a comfortable home than a clinic.

We did this on purpose. When the space around you feels steady, it is easier to settle in, think clearly, and do the work you came to do. From the moment you walk in, the room is meant to work in your favor.

Executives | High Achievers | Couples | Divorce | Life Transitions

Most of the people I work with are used to being the steady one. They are capable, responsible, and quietly tired of holding everything together on their own. My work is to help you slow down enough to see what is actually driving the pattern, and to be direct with you about it while you feel genuinely supported. You do not have to be in crisis to deserve that kind of attention.

Women & Mothers | Life Transitions | Parenting | Healing After Loss | Supportive Therapy

A lot can change in a woman's life without much warning, and it can leave you feeling unmoored even when things look fine from the outside. I offer a steady, accepting place to make sense of those shifts, whether you are moving through a loss, a new season of motherhood, or a version of yourself you are still getting to know. My hope is that you leave each session a little more grounded than when you came in.

Couples | Divorce | Grief | Life Transitions | Aging & Identity

Real change tends to happen slowly, in the company of someone willing to stay in the hard conversations with you. I am most at home with couples, with people moving through divorce or grief, and with those facing the questions that come with a new stage of life. I will not pretend to have every answer. What I can offer is steady attention, honest reflection, and a willingness to sit with what is difficult until it starts to make sense.

Neurodivergent Adults | LGBTQIA+ | Alternative Relationships | Sexuality | Identity

Stories are the heart of how I work, the ones you tell about yourself and the ones you have started to question. I work with neurodivergent adults, with LGBTQ and queer clients, and with people sorting through identity, sexuality, and relationships that do not always fit the usual script. You have already lived through a lot to get here. Together we look at how your story has been told so far, and how you want to tell it next.

Young Adults | Attachment | Anxiety | Identity | Relationships

Telling a stranger about your hardest stuff is a strange thing to do, and it is okay if the first session feels awkward. I work mostly with adults in their twenties and thirties who are sorting out anxiety, relationships, and the patterns that keep repeating no matter how much they already understand about themselves. My job is to help you see where those patterns come from, and to make the process feel less intimidating than it sounds. You will not have to figure it out alone.
